Stubbies have arrived! I saw the beginning of wings on the signets when they showed up for breakfast this morning. Their necks are starting to turn white and most exciting is the little guy with the fish hook, bait and line has freed himself of it.
Again Mother Nature at work, happy to see a positive outcome for the baby swan. He had a lot of energy while towing the long tangled fish line a couple days ago, was not sure if he was going to make it.
Even after he managed to lose most of fishing line, the hook and bait was firmly hooked in the area between his future wings with about 10 feet of fish line.
I saw it get tangled and tugged on regularly with no apparent pain caused to the bird. Guess somebody tugged real hard.
