Had to slow down for a turtle crossing on the Argyle Lake bike path ,SW corner, with a little fella crossing. Stopped and took picture, had to get couple inches away, was surprised he did not pull into his shell like they the snappers do at the beach.

He was in the middle of the path, quite surprised as to his progress in the time it took me to make a u turn after going over the bridge. Think he is Mud turtle, about 4″ long with some big nasty feet. He had fresh mud covering his shell so guessing he came out of the little pond at South end of Argyle.

Safe, more for less, to other side of the path heading in for a much needed bath and rest in the Argyle mud…
