Davis Weather Instruments designs and produces great products. Our weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro. The humidity sensor had been intermittent for the last year or so. The wind anemometer was replaced a couple times. Other than that, the actual station lasted more than a decade in really harsh conditions at Gilgo Beach and then to a lesser extent here in Babylon.
Bought 2 stations when first started gilgo.com as felt needed a backup to insure a steady reliable weather data source for surfers. Finding actual wind conditions at ocean beaches here on Long Island is still dicy, but at least they exist. Back then, gilgo.com was the only source. Although had problems thru the years, the products from Davis worked great. Finally had a reason to use my spare and the new connection was effortless.
Learned something new about the weather program I have been using for the last 30 years. There is an option for current live wind graph that shows last minute of wind with a one minute average and the peak gust since midnight. Replaced the 24 hour graph of wind speed with the new screen, good info.
Please note; The Peak Wind Spd reading is current highest reading last hour. The Peak Gust is the highest reading since Midnight.
